Stanley Black and Decker Specialty Territory Manager, Concrete Solutions in Calgary, Alberta

SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Western Specialty Sale Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the sales of Concrete Solutions products to their assigned account base coupled with end user conversions. The Specialty Territory Manager candidate will be a highly motivated and hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced, competitive retail and industrial construction environment. The candidate must possess strong negotiation, presentation, and product knowledge skills, and the ability to implement various sales and marketing programs to their customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve top line sales and standard margin budgets

  • Present and execute Marketing promotions and programs to assigned customer base; develop, execute and track account plans

  • Develop and nurture strong account relationships

  • Identify new customer prospects and sell our products value proposition

  • Use product and market knowledge to provide full business solutions

  • Effectively work with distribution and end user partners

  • Drive sales through end user’s activities, distributor sales work along, demos and end user calls

  • Design and execute “sell in” and “sell through” promotional plans for key Industrial and 2-Step accounts

  • Provide monthly (6 month) rolling sales and ski forecast by business

  • Co-ordinate and participate in major trade shows with key accounts

  • Manage the business within assigned Co-op and T&E budgets

  • Manage “On Loan” Account

  • Provide feedback on competitive activity to the marketing group

  • Perform other duties as required

  • Build and maintain relationships with key distribution partners

  • Manage the training of end-users on new products throughout the territory

  • Drive sales growth with key distribution partners

  • Develop clear and effective written proposals

  • New business development within assigned region

  • Determine strategic planning related to new product lines

  • Establish organization policies and procedures in relation to sales

  • Plan, direct and evaluate the activities of sales departments in commercial, industrial, wholesale, retail and other organizations

  • Organize regional and divisional sales operations

  • Lead sales team in building relationships with business clients and manage negotiations of sales contracts

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post secondary education in a Marketing, Business, Engineering or relative field of study

  • 3+ years’ experience in industrial power tools, abrasive and concrete and masonry anchors and fastening systems sales with a record of demonstrated achievements

  • Extensive product knowledge of mechanical anchors, adhesive anchoring systems and powered forced-entry systems such as powder-actuated and gas fastening systems

  • Experience conducting product training in the industrial and rental channels

  • Proficiency in using SAP/BW and Microsoft Office suite of products

  • Strong planning, organizational and interpersonal communication skills

  • Team player and client focused individual

  • Proven ownership of work, doing what is needed without being asked, following through

  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

  • P.C. Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint

  • Must be flexible for occasional overnight travel

  • Excellent time and territory management skills
