SPPID Administrator

Position Summary - SPPID Administrator with professional knowledge in Refinery, Petrochemical and Oil Gas Plant .

Minimum 10years experience in SPP&ID Administration.

Job description

  • Support and advise SmartPlant PID users

  • Interfacing with IT operations for the SmartPlant PID support architecture

  • Establish the procedures for using SmartPlant PID for assignment projects

  • Able to publish the SPPIDs to SPF (ie. Knowledge of working in integrated environment)

  • Experience in Intergrating SPPID with other tools like SPF, COMOS, EXCEL etc

  • Evaluate and implement new versions of SmartPlant PID in conjunction with associated tools

Skills:-

  • Maintain the SPP&ID reference database for projects including transfers, reports, MTO downloads, data integrity, etc. including the customization of reports as per project requirements

  • Trouble-shoot and solve P&ID problems to ensure project integrity

  • Develop detailed project work instructions for users

  • SPPID Administration including creating symbology, filters, reports, system maintenance, etc. Produce setup documentation detailing the SPP&ID setup (Symbol customisation, Data dictionary customisation)

  • Follow department and client drafting methods and standards

  • Create auditing requirements and checking for quality assurance of the design effort

  • Help develop automation enhancements

  • Strong aptitude for project planning and implementation of new design software

  • Knowledge of VB (.NET or 6) Programming

  • MSSQL / Oracle SQL queries will be considered as an asset

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is a must have to effectively work with the engineering disciplines

  • Has the ability to effectively conduct training sessions (user and advance level)

  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including Process, Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical and CAD support

  • Help develop automation enhancements

  • Design accurate system drawings, in a given time period, adjusting to project requirements

  • This position requires strong written and verbal communication

  • Able to populate the datas from Excel to the SPPID (Like Pipe Run process parameters, Eqp details etc)

    Education - Bachelors in Engineering or the equivalent Technical degree required.
