Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager - Logistics/Supply Chain, AWS Global Logistics, DCC Communities in Herndon, Virginia

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Central Operations Team is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager with a strong operations delivery record and senior leadership experience to own and manage strategic, cross-functional, cross-organizational business initiatives. You will use analytical, technical, program management, relationship building and operations management skills to drive a broad set of strategic initiatives and improvement projects. As a member of this team, you will be a thought leader who will work cross-functionally to develop and implement next generation processes, tools and systems. The role includes writing documents that present a clear view on operational strategy, developing requirements to enhance our processes and tools, and ensuring scalable solutions to support our ability to maintain and grow the AWS cloud.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Key job responsibilities

•Work with business teams and process owners and be the global champion in driving new initiatives, representing the logistics organization.

•Determine customer needs and drive solutions

•Program manage global initiatives– Work to define processes, owners, data inputs, dependencies, decision points and key milestones. Create and own program/project plans and their prioritization and implementation.

•Identify, marshal and organize resources and cooperation across departments to meet required goals.

•Solve complex issues, establish standards, processes and system requirements.

•Communicate project status updates to stakeholders, including team members and executives. Synthesize a multitude of issues into a clear, concise and focused message. Present with confidence and brevity.

•Provide visibility into any potential risks, issues and blockers, develop mitigation plan and own resolution.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
