Baker Hughes, a GE Company is currently hiring a Logistics Specialist based in Houston, TX.
In addition to the essential responsibilities of a Logistics Specialist, this role involves working closely across a variety of product lines, manufacturing plants and customers to prepare shipments and commercial documentation for revenue recognition for routed shipments. Review and interpretation of customer requirements, BHGE process / procedures will be key to this role.
This individual will also manage specialized project cargo moves for the North America control tower, which involves critical thinking, project management and supplier negotiations. It will be required for this individual to operate well under stressful situations and prioritize workload with minimal intervention from other team members.
Performs all Specialist duties under limitedsupervision, reviews analyzes and recommends transportation anddistribution methods and procedures to develop and utilize the mosteconomically advantageous and efficient means of delivering theorganization's products.
Manages more complex shipments such as hazardousmaterial shipments, highly urgent shipments, charter flights, multi-modalshipments, Letters of Credit, etc.
Works closely with Trade Compliance Group and willassist lower level personnel and participate in training. Handles specialprojects, as assigned. May act as Logistics Lead in absence of LogisticsSupervisor
Bachelor's Degree in Supply ChainManagement preferred or equivalent work experience.
3 years’ experience.
Knowledge of transportation anddistribution methods. Good problem-solving skills.
Prefercandidate with some logistics experience and preferably has experience relatedto US Customs clearance processes and/or trade compliance.
Positiveattitude, willingness to learn and ability to dedicate sufficient time tounderstand the processes, roles and responsibilities associated with BHGELogistics.
