Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company is looking for an Industrial Engineer for our Wireline Services team located at the Houston Technology Center in Houston, TX. The Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET) team supports product transition from Product Development to Production. An Industrial Engineer in the MET team is the supply chain project leader on New Product Introduction projects, ensuring all parts of the organization fulfill their roles in preparing new products for launch.

The person in this role must be comfortable working with ambiguity, have a proven track record of execution, showing initiative, and demonstrating outstanding communication skills – specifically, have the ability to communicate effectively with both Supply Chain and Technology teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Supply Chain Readiness Assessment process for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, and provide Gate approval guidance to management

  • Perform life cycle costing calculations for new and legacy products

  • Facilitate Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Service exercises

  • Perform cost analysis for engineering changes

  • Implement supply chain portion of engineering changes in SAP

  • Lead Continuous Process Improvement Projects for the Supply Chain Project Management Office

  • Track both Cost Avoidance and Cost Savings from MET activities

  • Planning and MRP for prototype builds

  • Engaging with suppliers early in NPI process

  • SAP master data setup for new part numbers

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Supply chain experience including, but not limited to, manufacturing engineering.

  • 2 years engineering experience

Key competencies include, but are not limited to fast execution, strong communication skills, using influence to lead people
