Community Action Partnership of Cambria County Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Johnstown, Pennsylvania
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures all children are appropriately chaperoned and never left unattended in all situations such as facility, transportation, playground, or community outing.
- When substituting for an aide on the bus, ensures all children have evacuated the bus, and checks for personal items left on the bus.
- Assists Health, Safety, and Nutrition Manager with getting children's health records prepared for registration.
- Completes registration.
- Prepares and maintains children's health records.
- Inputs, tracks, and analyzes health data tracking information in Child Plus and other necessary systems.
- Maintains and updates immunization records.
- Conducts children's health screenings as indicated.
- Provides appropriate health training and/or reference materials to parents, staff and children.
- Assists with health emergencies.
- Communicates with dental and physicians' offices and the PA Department of Health.
- Assesses and cares for sick/injured children when at the centers.
- Helps establish oral & health hygiene routines including preventative medical & dental care.
- Establishes positive interactions with children.
- Attends health team meetings, in-services, and team meetings.
- Submits PIR and data according to Data Management Plan to Health, Safety, and Nutrition Manager.
- Attends and/or participates at the health advisory committee meetings.
Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by Health, Safety, and Nutrition Manager or other management as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts or assists Health Aides with routine head checks.
- Attends evening meetings and participates in job related training as required.
- When in the center's, eats with children when needed, sharing the same menu while demonstrating socially acceptable behaviors and manners.
- Follows the program procedures relating to confidentiality.
- Performs overnight travel as required.
- Transports clients or participates as required with agency vehicle.
- Provides classroom training in each center on blood pressures with the children.
- Conducts Health and Safety Inspections at each center for self-assessment.
- Mandated Child Abuse/Neglect reporter.
Must pass initial and tri-annual physical exam and TB screening.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of computers, including MS Word, Excel, and other related programs.
- Demonstrated ability to direct and manage program goals and objectives.
- Experience in conducting training programs.
- Knowledge and awareness of local health care facilities.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal tactfully with the public.
Working knowledge of outcome-based services.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- License Practical Nurse (Required)
- Minimum of three (3) years working experience as an LPN. (Required)
- Current PA driver's license and reliable transportation. (Required)
- Free of Child Abuse/Neglect history as verified by proper authorities prior to employment. (Required)
- Must obtain Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances prior to starting employment. (Required)
- Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification. (Required)
Must meet vaccination requirements set by funding sources. (Required)
