This position is accountable for the transport of patients, either by escort or in wheelchair, to various departments within hospital. This position requires constant contact with patients and the public. This position is also accountable for minimal clerical and courier duties within the department when not transporting patients. JOB DUTIES: -Transport patients to the proper destination promptly and efficiently. -Provide accurate billing information generated from registration clerks to various entities. -Retrieve departmental mail and distribute within department. -Deliver patient bar code stickers to needy departments. -Retrieve inpatient paperwork for scanners to scan upon patient discharge. -Stock supplies within the department. -File physician?s orders. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -Must have cordial personality to interact with patients and guests. -Must be physically able to transport patients in a wheelchair. -Must be able to read, write and understand written and verbal communication.
