Summary This National Guard position is for a MATERIALS HANDLER SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D0731000 and is part of the NJ USPFO, National Guard. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Responsibilities As a MATERIALS HANDLER SUPERVISOR, WS-6907-6, you will: Plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Establish deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies. Assign tasks to be performed. Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures Assure that equipment and materiel is available when needed. Coordinate work with other units. Ensures that regulations governing safety and housekeeping are observed with appropriate protective clothing and equipment being utilized. Implement regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Security Clearance Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment. Military Unit -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Education EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS There are no education requirements for this vacancy announcement.
