Role Summary:

3 rd Shift Assembly and Testing Supervisor responsible for a team of 8 technicians.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises ARMO (assembly, repair, maintenance and overhaul) employees at our Leduc Facility

  • Leads, influences, and develops a team of 12 experienced and inexperienced assemblers

  • Actively involved in all HS&E aspects with regards to employees on their shift and ensures compliance of HS&E policies and procedures

  • Accomplishes overall manufacturing goals and is proactive in process improvement

  • Evaluates and gives performance feedback to individuals

  • Facilitates conflict resolution

  • Ensures competent technical workforce through the competency management program and adhere to established methods

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, maintain department records to include training plans as required

  • Assign Priorities as needed with daily task.

  • Knowledge of production planning, quality, and maintenance.

  • Experienced in implementing Lean/6S initiatives as well as knowledge of the Six Sigma process

  • Cultivates a proactive and diverse production culture and acts by example.

  • Facility is 24/7 and therefore this role will need to have an open schedule in order to be available to all shifts and respond to callouts as necessary

  • Handles special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school Diploma or GED and 5 years’ experience in manufacturing and/or assembly, or degree with 3 years’ experience in manufacturing and/or assembly

  • 2-3 years in a supervisory role is required

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to read and interpret routine instructions

  • Good mechanical aptitude

  • Knowledge of machinery and equipment.

  • Ability to guide and direct employees.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Safety oriented and a team player

  • Must be flexible and possess the ability to following work center guidelines

  • Ability to make clear, concise decisions to address issues in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to function both tactically and strategically

  • SAP and Excel experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • SAP and Microsoft Office experience

  • 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing a plus

  • Handling large work groups

  • 6 sigma, lean principle knowledge

  • Organizing workflows

  • 5 or more years in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with the development and troubleshooting of manufacturing processes and equipment

  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications preferred.

  • Advanced problem solving capabilities

  • Ability to learn, understand and adhere to documented processes and procedures

  • Interpersonal communication skills, ability to collaborate across functional roles

  • Initiative and has courage in maintaining a strong safety and quality culture

  • Prior experience within a high stress department with constant employee involvement

  • Must be flexible to work within a dynamic environment

  • May have to take phone calls during off hours to assist with the production
