Department Summary:

MITRE’s Department of Strategic Management Systems within the Enterprise Strategy and Transformation Center works in partnerships across government agencies to establish management practices needed to achieve mission success.

We will provide you with challenging opportunities to apply and expand your business strategy acumen, assess governance, develop, and implement performance metrics, apply analytic skills, and assist government agencies with strategic innovation and transformation. You will use your abilities to address complex issues of critical national and global significance. We help our Federal sponsors improve agency performance and achieve their mission through the use of strategic & performance planning, progress measurement, analysis, and use of performance information.

Job Description:

As our Enterprise Business Strategist you will work on a team to provide technical capabilities in the area of strategic management.

You will support the development of strategic guidance for senior level sponsors, customers and other federal or industry stakeholders by:

• Helping sponsors define and prioritize their vision, mission and business goals;

• Develop & present data used to make actionable recommendations to Federal sponsors;

• Clarifying performance outcomes and capabilities required to achieve those outcomes;

• Supporting the development of agency-wide or government-wide strategic and transition planning activities;

• Contributing to the development of enterprise performance management & measurement plans;

• Establishing enterprise governance with associated practices and mechanisms;

• Formulating enterprise portfolio planning and investment management strategies.

• This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or related major

• Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US government clearance.

• Ability to develop and deliver rigorous analyses and evaluations on programmatic and management topics including investment recapitalization.

• Hands on proficiency using Tableau, Viso, Excel and related tools to develop & present data and make actionable recommendations to Federal sponsors.• Interest in designing standards, formulating guidance and deploying process improvement initiatives for large Federal agencies.• Prior application experience; working within a team or project setting, development of written papers and oral presentations.• Ability to conduct research and present findings and recommendations that effectively communicate key messages.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or other advanced degree in applicable major.

• 3 + years experience documented success designing and implementing mission-based capabilities assessments.

• Preference given to qualified candidates with an active clearance.

• Hands on proficiency with tools such as UML / SysML

• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma
