Overall Description: Provides technical expertise for Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security (SHE) programs at the Mill Hall site. Assists in the development and implementation of SHE programs, policies, and procedures to improve SHE performance and maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and corporate requirements. In addition, monitors, audits, and reviews SHE programs to evaluate effectiveness and compliance.  Performs all duties within the Company's safety, health & environmental regulations. All other duties as assigned by management.

Key Duties: Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security (SHE) Regulatory Guidance -- 40% •   Ensures compliance with local, state, federal, and corporate requirements and provides applicability advice to site management. •   Audits SHE related programs and work processes for compliance with regulations and established procedures. •   Assists Lead SHE Advisor with permit compliance, correspondence with PaDEP and coordinates new submissions to PaDEP. •   Conducts inspections and maintains data regarding SHE compliance requirements. Implementation of SHE Programs -- 60%  •   Prepares, updates, and delivers training on SHE topics and works with the Training Coordinator to ensure annual SHE training is completed for all site departments. •   Develops, reviews, and updates SHE related procedures including Manufacturing Packets. •   Provides SHE input in various teams including hazard studies and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR). •   Assists in investigation of SHE related incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions. Tracks completion of corrective actions and leads incident review meetings to assure investigation and follow-up to near miss incidents. •   Facilitates the site Safety Committee monthly meetings and VPP Team, including quarterly VPP inspections to create a cooperative team environment. Communicates minutes of meetings and tracks findings to completion. •   Supports the Human Performance program and reviews information and data received to determine trends, complete quarterly metric reports, and reports, and establish goals and direction to improve employee safety engagement. •   Leads the contractor management program and permit process to protect contractor and site employees. •   Supports SHE management system activities to maintain certifications, including audit participation and aspect/ impact reviews. •   Assists with Group SHE manual and directive gap analyses, and SHE quarterly reporting. •   Arranges for or conducts industrial hygiene sampling to meet compliance and verify plant baselines. Reviews data, making recommendations for process improvement and personal protective equipment (PPE) upgrades. •   Oversees Croda's injury/illness prevention program and adherence to OSHA's reporting requirements.

Experience required: Minimum of 5-7 years of safety, health, and environmental experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal SHE regulations.  Demonstrated experience in SHE management system implementation, risk assessment skills, and injury/illness prevention. Strong technical, interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills.

Education / specialized training required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science. Must have oral and written proficiency in the English language.

Physical requirements: Able to walk, stand & sit for a minimum of 8 hours per day. Required to move throughout production areas on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and ladders. Able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
