Description

The Coaching & Development team is looking for a Sr. Quality Engineer (Software Development Engineer in Test) to join our team in Montevideo, UY! This product is a cornerstone of UKG's core Human Capital Management (HCM) suite of products and is a key product in the future of performance reviews in helping support holistic performance management through reviews and continuous feedback. You will work side by side with other members of the engineering team (other Quality Engineers, Software Engineers and SREs) and members from UX and Product Management to build the best-in-class review product in the market. In support of our culture, we are adopting a hybrid working model of 3 days per week in the office and the rest of the week from home.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with the Product team to understand business requirements and use cases from which automated tests are developed

• Develop automated tests for all user and business requirements.

• Address product findings by code fixing

• Proactively discover and address defects in products; provide trusted recommendations on improvements for development and testing solutions

• Perform root cause analysis for all defects

• Develop and execute software test strategies and perform functional black box and white box, integration, system, and regression tests

• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing

• Identify test data requirements and generate data sets for testing

• Learn the domain of the application and become a subject matter expert for assigned task areas

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with software development, QA methodologies and agile methodologies.

• Strong fundamentals in OOP and coding foundations (Languages, such as Java or Kotlin)

• Ability to identify and fix code issues and findings.

• Knowledge of contract testing, white box testing, testing automation, unit testing, regression testing.

• Experience with automated testing tools such as Postman, Cypress or similar

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
