Northwestern State University's Department of New Media, Journalism, and Communication Arts in Natchitoches, Louisiana, seeks an applicant for a 9-month, tenure-tracked, full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication position beginning Fall Semester 2024.

Academic rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin immediately. The position will remain open until filled.

Minimum Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will be a generalist able to teach both introductory and upper-level courses.

  • Qualifications: At least a master’s degree in communication and related field plus teaching experience required

  • ABD considered but degree required by time of hire.

  • Prepares syllabi and instructional materials, coordinates lectures, tests, and evaluates.

  • Demonstrates willingness to learn and enhance professional skills through regular professional development and other activities appropriate to higher education faculty.

  • Actively participates in the department's recruiting efforts.

  • Advises students.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
