Job Description
We are looking for a seasoned communication professional in MEA. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to lead the design, development and execution of integrated communication strategy across multiple countries in MEA where we operate in 11 countries.

Your role overview:
Leads, develops and executes internal communications strategy; provides a clear roadmap for consistently communicating with employees, so they will feel informed about strategic priorities, work environment, best practices and specific initiatives
Defines what internal communications strategies are important to focus on, how and when they’ll be implemented across countries/region and how they’ll be measured to demonstrate value and impact to the business
Interacts with internal stakeholders to proactively get insight and counsel on business/organization specific communication needs
Leads, develops and executes comprehensive external communications and advocacy strategy for Amgen in the MEA region in alignment with global strategy that helps to build Amgen’s reputation and position the company as partner of choice in the region. Builds and maintains an effective working relationship with key communications agencies
Collaborates with internal stakeholders to regularly identify and prioritize business needs in terms of awareness campaigns, therapeutic area special events and employer branding activities. Works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that all content (print, email, website, intranet, social media) and promotions are consistent with Amgen´s brand and narrative
Support MEA leadership team on external engagement/thought leadership opportunities and pull through across different channels
Support priority MEA policy initiatives through communications
Teams up with internal stakeholders to oversee Amgen´s employer brand recognition and reputation; understands the company´s image and its value proposition; and acts to improve employee and customer experience continuously; establishes accountability for results with metrics, measures and monitoring; work social media effectively; and passionately lives up to their brand promise every day
Oversees the planning and execution of communications in special situations to minimize negative effects and build reputation as a responsible corporation. Works with global Corporate Communications to provide communications counseling for issues/crisis management
Develop a community engagement strategy that delivers clear benefit to Amgen and supports local communities in meaningful ways; develop programs to deliver the strategy
Qualifications and required experience:
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of eight years of Communication or PR experience, ideally gained in biotechnology or pharmaceutical company
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English
Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative team player with good cross-cultural adaptability
Takes initiative and acts pro-actively, enthusiastically and creatively
Demonstrated ability to organize and execute plans against objectives in a semi-autonomous environment while also working effectively in a cross-functional team
Operational excellence: management skills, planning, prioritization, decision making, objective setting, meeting management and plan execution
Ability to manage and align disparate cross functional/country resources
Compliance and legal parameters for working with patients and external stakeholders
