We are looking for an experienced Microbiology Scientist to join our Diagnostics division and in this role, you will:

  • Perform basic and advanced culture techniques, including microbiology, tissue culture and virus culture in support of assay development activities as well as product support activities. This includes sterile aerobic as well as anaerobic work technique and involves handling of infectious materials, including BSL3 level work.

  • Perform molecular experiments, such as PCR, cloning, sequencing and DNA/RNA extractions.

  • Interact with internal customers which will require excellent communication skills as well as flexibility

  • Be supporting multiple projects simultaneously, which will require multitasking skills and creative thinking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.

  • Context: Understand the projects assigned in depth and customer’s requirements, expectations and needs

  • Complexity: Integrates information from a variety of sources to arrive at optimal solutions

  • Strategic Planning: Creates timelines for tasks. Develops reasonable alternatives to resolve problems

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree

  • Minimally 5 - 8 years of industry experience ideally in tissue culture, virus culture and/or microbiology experience, sterile work techniques

  • Molecular biology experience, including cloning, PCR and sequencing

The annualized base salary range for this role is $82,400 to $128,900 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
