TATCHA Director, Retail Marketing & Sales - North America in San Francisco, California

WHAT WE NEED

As the Director, Retail Marketing & Sales, you will be responsible for building the development and driving the execution of strategies to propel the Tatcha business in North America across retail channels.

Each day at Tatcha is different with new problems to solve and tasks to tackle, but here is an idea of some of the things you will work on:

SALES STRATEGY & P&L MANAGEMENT

  • Accountable for a keen understanding of the business in each channel, making execution recommendations based on ongoing performance metrics, competitive environment, and merchandising analysis

  • Work with planning teams to build retail and net sales target for channel, and track performance

  • Propose annual marketing budget for channel’s marketing needs; track spending and COOP to budget, review and process all invoices, provide ad hoc analysis, drive reconciliation

    RETAIL MARKETING

  • Own full 360 retail marketing programming and develop comprehensive understanding of all key channel levers that increase visibility, in turn driving awareness and sales. Inclusive of retailer .com levers, animations, marketing events, media, digital marketing, social media and COOP

  • Connect the dots to ensure cohesive strategy across channels and levers

  • Adapt brand materials for channel-specific needs in-store and online. Help develop, distribute and manage brand content (including marketing comps, promos, samples, gratis, copy content, images)

  • Collect & analyze reports for retailer specific programs and make recommendations based on data

  • Advocate and negotiate brand/product placement opportunities; work with x-functional partners to execute

  • Develop and manage retailer execution of sampling programs; understand different sampling opportunities, negotiate accompanying marketing levers, ensure seamless execution and recap performance

  • Prepare retailer presentations as needed and drive ongoing touch base agendas

  • Maintain internal and retailer-facing Marketing calendars, own communication of marketing programs to all key stakeholders

  • Track key competitive activity

    MERCHANDISING

  • Accountable for a keen understanding of the business in each channel, making recommendations based on ongoing merchandising analysis, performance metrics and competitive environment

  • Determine in-store assortments across channels and fixture types/visual merchandising

  • Drive dotcom assortment and partner with retailer .com merchants on site merchandising

  • Advocate for strategic secondary merchandising (beauty on the fly, towers, etc)

  • Communicate product opportunities including exclusives and sets to product marketing team; manage retailer feedback and approval

  • Manage all visual merchandising programs - homebay and secondary placements - from brief through execution. Act as key liaison with merchants/VM teams, internal creative team, and VM vendor. Ensure ongoing alignment with sales and education, with key attentiveness to field feedback

  • Own updates and tracking of all planograms

    X-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

  • Act as key partner to sales and education team, aligning on priorities and calendar timing

  • Work with internal creative and brand marketing teams to brief and partner on execution of marketing assets; ensure teams are aligned on overall calendar and launch timing

  • Align with other Tatcha channels on execution plans to ensure complementary activity

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years in retail marketing, with experience in beauty, including multiple specialty retailer experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (google docs, google slides, etc)

  • Strong leadership and team management skills & experience

DETAILS

The expected base salary range for this position is 150,000 to $165,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
