Position Description

This posting is for an I&E Technician (Measurement) with a hiring range from a level 1 to a level 5 dependent on experience and skill set.

Area of Responsibility:

• Snyder Gas Plant, GP178, Snyder, Scurry County Texas and equipment located in three surrounding counties.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible to recommend, design, and install telemetry and associated equipment which will gather, record and manipulate data from approximately 155 measurement meters located in the plant and field..

• Responsible for the installation, maintenance and accuracy of approximately 50 meter stations located in the plant, compression facilities and on the gathering system.

• Responsible for collection of gas samples on a monthly schedule as well as semi-annual samples.

• Responsible for the day to day operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, testing & calibration of natural gas measurement and communication equipment.

• Responsible for call outs related to operation, measurement, communication and gas quality issues.

• Must be involved in reviewing practices/procedures, training programs, SCADA systems, and engineering standards.

• Maintain accurate gas measurement facilities (receipt and delivery) and manage lost and unaccounted gas.

• Project and manage capital and expense budgets for your area.

• Responsible for measurement engineering and O&M functions for the plant and field gathering.

• Work closely with the KM Business Development group and Project Management to provide operations support, and cost estimates relating to new business or expansion projects.

Position Requirements: Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Position Requirements

Minimum of two (2) years measurement experience with demonstrated basic knowledge of AGA and API standards.

• Knowledge of managing lost and unaccounted gas.

• Strong technical knowledge in the measurement field.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Understanding of electronic flow measurement computers.

• Understanding of oxygen and gas contaminant analyzers.

• Ability to perform basic mechanical work associated with natural gas facilities and pipelines.

• Must be proficient in computer software applications including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and be able to manipulate large spreadsheets and databases.

• Knowledge and experience working with flammable gases, liquids, and high pressure gasses.

• Required to work outside in all environmental conditions.

• Physical requirements include but may not be limited to walk up and down stairs/ladders, negotiate uneven surfaces and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to actively support the regions safety program.

• Must take on additional job responsibilities as assigned.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

• Ability to respond to one-call notifications.

• Must be willing to take call outs related to measurement, communication, overpressure protection, and gas quality issues in the plant and field gas gathering system.

• Required to carry a cell phone to respond to after hour call outs due to equipment and/or operational problems.

• Must be willing to work overtime on an as needed basis.

• Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.

• Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), keep required work schedules, prioritize work schedule, focus on attention to details, and follow safety and work procedures.

• Goal orientated with a focus on self motivation and independent work scheduling.

• Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document and complete work with a minimum of supervision.

Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge

• A two (2) year Applied Science degree or equivalent experience.

• Knowledge of NEC regulations philosophies and installation requirements.

• Experience with computer interface software, networking, and data file management.

• Knowledge of gas and liquid chromatography

• A good knowledge of orifice, turbine, and ultrasonic meters

• Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic, electronic, and electrical equipment and controls on field compressor units

• A good knowledge of screw, vane type and reciprocating compressors

• A good knowledge of alignment of equipment.

• Knowledge of installation, repair and replacement of steel and poly pipe
