Canadian Tire Senior Consultant, POP & Décor Procurement in Toronto, Ontario

What You'll Do

The Senior Consultant, Print & Décor Procurement is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production process and procurement of the Merchandising POP, Marketing Print Collateral and Store Décor Signage Programs aligned with the Canadian Tire brand guidelines. The mandate is to ensure opportunities are identified to reduce costs for impactful, innovative signage, forward thinking innovation and merchandising through competitive price negotiations with printers and volume rebate programs to deliver the best-in-class in-store shopping experience.

The Senior Consultant, Print & Décor Procurement provides direction to two Print Analysts, P.O.P. Design & Production. The Print Analysts are responsible for assisting the Senior Consultant through the daily print production process and management of P.O.P./Décor inventory. This involves overseeing the maintenance and replenishment of POP Signage and Décor SKUs for Canadian Tire, Party City and PHL

  • Provides direction and delegates the daily activities for two Print Analyst, P.O.P. Design & Production positions ensuring the print production process of the Advertising, Marketing and Décor signage programs are implemented in an efficient and timely manner. This involves the coordination and execution of each job through the P.O.P. Design & Production department from the print production stage to completed signage shipping to our warehouse. Oversees the inventory management process which requires regularly monitoring inventory levels of Point of Purchase Signage/ Décor SKUs, ensuring stock is available for store orders and any issues regarding P.O.P. standing orders are fulfilled

  • Oversees the print production process within set budgets by negotiating the lowest possible competitive quotes from print vendors. Makes informed decisions based on most cost efficient printing methods and substrates to support objectives and budget expectations. Communicates quotes to appropriate departments for cost approvals.

  • Responsible for communicating all information for new and updated signage to appropriate personnel for purpose of updating and maintaining key store communication documents ie:, P.O.P./Décor checklists, P.O.P. Décor guides and information communicated to cross functional project members.

  • Reviews vendor pricing and renegotiates vendor volume rebate contracts on an annual basis to ensure we are receiving the best value and lowest available pricing on Point of Purchase signage. Manages new and existing print vendor relationships and the annual vendor contracts for P.O.P. signage requirements.

  • Stays current with industry standards and innovative printing processes, sources new signage ideas and contributes to the development of sustainable solutions. Identifies opportunities that would reduce costs of P.O.P. signage and benefit department objectives/strategies.

  • Manages the receipt processing and shipping of new store Signage/ Décor orders from Store Planners directly through print vendors.

  • Works closely with P.O.P. print vendors to develop and test prototypes/innovative signage for new programs and initiatives.

  • Attends press approvals, store installation requirements and quality assurance reviews if necessary, ensuring delivery of project expectations.

What You Bring

  • University Degree (preferably in Business or Marketing, or equivalent work experience in an Advertising environment) or CPPP (Certified Print Production Practitioner) course.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a multi-tasked environment and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated negotiation, analytical, organizational, planning/coordination and interpersonal skills are necessary.

  • Experience in and understanding of PC skills, preferably Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft and Access

  • Retail and/or marketing experience would be an asset. (preferably at a CTC store and knowledge of marketing processes and systems)
